Capcom Loves Namco: Street Fighter & Tekken Crossovers Announced

At the San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, Capcom announced their newest Versus series collaboration with Namco. Capcom will be developing Street Fighter X Tekken for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, while Namco will be creating Tekken X Street Fighter. This is not the first time Capcom has been involved in a similar situation: a previous collaboration with SNK resulted in Capcom creating Capcom vs SNK 1 & 2, while SNK released SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos.

Street Fighter X Tekken, Capcom’s side of the team-up, will be powered by the same engine used in Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV. Announced characters include Street Fighter’s Ryu and Chun-Li, and Tekken’s Kazuya Mishima and Nina Williams.

“This is history we're making. Two fighting games that have rivalled each other are finally standing on the same stage,” said Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono. “This isn't just a showdown between Tekken and Street Fighter, but a decisive battle for Capcom and Namco Bandai Games. So I'm going to give it my all.”

WWE Wrestler to Take Time Off

Posted by Rick Starr on July 25, 2010 at 5:26 PM Comments comments (0)

Reports are comming in that Chris Jericho may take some time off after SummerSlam. Apparently this is when his contract expire, and he has some tour dates to do with Fozzy, and he also has to startup the Fall season of "Downfall" the gameshow. The game show, didn't do that great this summer, but considering the season(summer) and the choice of day it was on might have hurt the season. The Fall season should give the game show a fair chance to see if it was just a bad season...or a bad show.

As for his career in the WWE there is rumors that he could stay on a minum basis, but that's unclear at this point.

TNA Talent to NOT Show Up at Hard Justice

Posted by Rick Starr on July 25, 2010 at 5:15 PM Comments comments (0)

One big name that many wondered, as to weather he would show up is Lance Storm.Storm is a Hardcore Legend in is own right, and apparently was offered a spot at the upcomming PPV. Storm wrote this in his recent blog:

I was hoping to write a bigger article about the TNA: ECW Themed PPV, because I am getting bombarded with questions, but I've got a very busy schedule for the next week, so I'll just address this here and now.

I was asked if I would be interested in taking part in the TNA: One Last Stand PPV. I think it was big of them to extend me the offer, considering my general opinion of the TNA product, and want to I thank them for that, but I will not be taking part.

I feel it would be hypocritical of me to work the show, considering my out outspoken views of the TNA product. I have a great deal of respect for the boys who will be working the show as well as the great workers on the TNA roster, but I have no desire to be a part of the TNA creative process. As for ECW, One Night Stand in 2005 was my farewell and am content in letting sleeping dogs lie.

Several Former WWE Talent 90 Contract Expired

Posted by Rick Starr on July 25, 2010 at 4:41 PM Comments comments (0)

Back in April, the WWE did their "spring cleaning" of talent, and realeased several superstars and divas. "Slam Masta J", Jimmy Wang Yang, Katie Burchil, Kung Fu Kaki, Mike Knocks, Shelton Benjamin, and Mickie James were all released, and had a 90-day no compete clause. While there are some loop-holes in the compete clause, the WWE is strict about no TV or PPV time as wrestlers. However that is no longer a problem as the 90 day clause has expired for all of them.

Some wrestlers should not have a problem getting back into the main-stream, such as Mickie James and even Shelton Benjamin. Others like Slam Masta J might find themselvs left out into the cold.

Jerry Lynn Comming to TNA?

Posted by Rick Starr on July 25, 2010 at 4:28 PM Comments comments (0)

There has been some heavy rumors that Jerry Lynn (among other big ECW names) will be making thier was to TNA's Hard Justice. One site, went as far as to say that they even went on Jerry Lynn's Web site and SAW that he would be at the PPV August 8th. I went to the site myself and no such date was marked. Now we can say the date was removed in less than 24hrs than it was posted, or we can say that site was lying. You decide...

An Interview with ODB

Jessie Kresa aka ODB a former 3 time TNA knockout Champion, had an in depth interview with Scripps Howard News. Kresa was released in early 2010, as she herself stated there was money problems on her Twitter page when she was released. However in this interview, there was clearly issues between the new Hogan/Bichoff managment. Here is some highlights from that interview:

-"I'm not a 120-pound, Barbie-doll-looking girl," Kresa said Wednesday in a telephone interview. "I'm a little rough around the edges. I'm different, which sometimes hurts me a little bit."

-"(TNA management) didn't really know what was in it so I could fill it up," a laughing Kresa said. "Every time I entered the ring, there was something in there. It depended who I was working against. If I was going against (Amazing) Kong, I would fill it with Jagermeister. That's one big (woman)."

-"We were the ones who built the Knockout division. People wanted to watch because we were all so different. That's what guys like. They're going back to the cookie-cutter (performers), I think."
